NEWSTART®:   Temperance
Temperance is not a word we hear much these days;
but, simply put, it means not indulging in anything
that is harmful and using in moderation only those things
which promote health.
To be truly healthy, there needs to be a balance of all
five areas of the human condition: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, and
Spiritual. Think of these areas as lug-nuts on the wheel of an automobile--the
more of them that become loose, the more unstable the wheel will be. It's
the same way with our health--our physical bodies will suffer if there is not a
balance in the other four areas.
