Steve Jacobs
LifeandHealth.org is hosted through the good offices of
TrinidadUSA.net, an Internet Service
Provider in southern Colorado. Steve Jacobs is its System Administrator; and as
such, he is a source of on-going technical advice and an occasional useful idea.
In addition to being a backwoods Unix geek of some local notoriety, he is the
founder of Steve Jacobs & Associates--an Internet design and consulting firm
in Trinidad, Colorado. He is also a Web programmer, using Zope, Python and PHP,
among others.
In other "lifetimes" Steve has been an advertising copywriter, typographer,
printer, graphic designer, and rare book dealer. He is happiest when his reach
exceeds his grasp; and so, he tends to seek out a new vocation whenever he begins
to achieve proficiency in his current one. Happily, he has found a professional
home at last on the World Wide Web--a place of such vast complexity that no one
will ever achieve proficiency.
Steve spends endless hours staring at computer monitors. Such exercise as he gets
consists of walking from his workstation to the kitchen to refill his coffee cup.
He fries his food. He smokes. Therefore his interest in LifeandHealth.org
is natural and unsurprising--he suspects that his survival may depend on it!

Note from the Webcritter:
Steve preferred a biography that was a "little less straight-laced" than the one
which originally appeared here. So, out of respect for his preference, I asked him
to write one that he could be happy with. The above bio is his handiwork, with the
exception of some minor editing and insertion of the HTML code.
Although his modesty becomes him and his humor is charming, the truth is that
Steve contributes to this site much more than he has hinted at--both technically
and creatively. His career and life's experiences add a richness to the site which
it otherwise would have lacked.
On the "health" side: Steve has been discovering, over the last few years,
how beneficial the use of herbs, antioxidants and simple home remedies can be. It
is hoped that he will be around for a long time--in health--as the primary
consultant for LifeandHealth.org.
